No “Assault Weapons” Ban!

Petition to My Elected Officials

WHEREAS: The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution clearly states, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed;” and

WHEREAS: Article 1, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution states, “every person has a right to keep and bear arms for the defense of himself and the state;” and

WHEREAS: These laws are clear infringement of the U.S. and Michigan Constitutions and have shown to have no effect on crime rates, but rather needlessly turn countless law-abiding citizens into criminals for simply owning a firearm with features arbitrarily deemed “scary.”

THEREFORE: I respectfully urge you to OPPOSE any “Assault Weapons” ban in Michigan. Great Lakes Gun Rights will keep me informed of your actions.
